TORTILLA HEAVEN NEWS- Thanks to Jeffrey Winter
After many years in the making, TORTILLA HEAVEN is rising TODAY (Friday, March 16, 2007). As most of you know, this unique film is opening on 70+ screens in Southern California. For a listing of a theater near you...see www.tortillaheaventhemovie.com.
These days, independent film distribution is ALL about the Opening Weekend...so be sure to see it this weekend or nobody may ever see it again. Support independent Latino film! Buy a ticket to Tortilla Heaven (heck -- buy four)!
For those of you NOT in Southern California, there is a way you can help to ensure the film does eventually get to you. We need to do well this weekend to make it to the rest of the country...so please call/email everyone you know in the region and send them out to buy tickets. Heck...just buy some online and think of it as a donation.
Your participation is vital to the future of independent films such as this one. Hope to see you at the theaters this weekend.
You can't keep a miracle secret!

Will Tortilla Heaven be shown in Europe and UK? We like independent films too, probably more than the mainstream rubbish that is widely distributed! _________________ I like the English. Eva, please excuse the English! Do you have to download through Bittorrent or Emule or do you get the movies from (e.g.) Amazon in Spain? ¿Como estas? lol! I love learning Spanish. Our tutor spent 2 years as a university student in Madrid and now teaches English to refugees and asylum seekers here in England
I have several jobs! My favourite one is helping out in our creche. There is a beautiful little Columbian boy (Jorham) and he will run to me immediately if he sees me in the creche because I can now speak a little Spanish! He is only 1 and1/2 year old and he raises his lovely eyebrows (Clay swoons......!) and his lovely brown eyes sparkle and he smiles at me when I greet him!
He has my heart and he knows it! _________________ I like the English. They have the most rigid code of immorality in the world. (Malcolm Bradbury; British academic, novelist and critic; 1959; Eating People is Wrong - Chapter 5) |

Awww mssasha, he moves my heart! Also, his parents smile when Jorham runs to me becaue they are happy he has someone he feels comfortable with. Of course, I get him settled, then I withdraw and let another person take over because that helps him get used to other creche workers and the other children. But I must admit, whichever child I am with, my eyes are drawn to Jorham if I hear him cry! _________________ I like the English. They have the most rigid code of immorality in the world. I'd just like to add that we Brits enjoy independent films from all countries and cultures and that I wish distributors in the USA would take advantage of this knowledge.
Mainstream Hollywood movies are often over rated and I feel that independently funded films have much more integrity, heart and soul and the actors look like real people, rather than the 'silicone/botox celebrity' of mainstream movies. Rant over!! _________________ I like the English. They have the most rigid code of immorality in the world. Okay........from the words of Alexis. Tortilla Heaven was made 7 years ago and (according to the e-mail update) now it is being shown in lower California and making it's way out west. If more people request it, it should make it's way across the states. _________________

Next time I'm in the good old USA I will have to visit Wal Mart (or a store where I can get a better deal) and look for all the movies that Alexis has made and buy them up! _________________ I like the English.
